Will you join us?

Helping the Community through Neighborhood House

Neighborhood House is always interested in people who want to help their community and provides multiple opportunities through various programs at different times of the year.

Please fill out our easy to use volunteer form if you are interested in helping at Neighborhood House. The form can be filled out and submitted online.

Volunteers for Meals Needed

Neighborhood House is serving meals to children 18 years of age and younger. Children arrive at 4:00 p.m. for tutoring, games, gym time, and other enrichment activities after the meal is served from 4:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m. Meals will be served when Peoria School District is in session. Meals will be served Monday through Friday. Neighborhood House is looking for volunteers to:

  • serve as positive role model
  • commit to one afternoon a week, 4:00 pm to 5:15 pm
  • supervise activities, games, gym time

The children who come to us for meals typically live in very food “insecure” homes. In addition to food, Neighborhood House also provides a safe haven for kids who would otherwise be on the streets. Please help us to establish and maintain an atmosphere of stability and trust at Neighborhood House. These kids deserve more than a hand out- you can help with them get a hand up. Because this is a vulnerable population, all volunteers will need to pass a background check.

Please share this with whomever you believe might be interested in helping at-risk youth.

Other ways to get involved include:

  • Holiday Programs
  • Food Pantry Helpers
  • Kitchen Helpers
  • Yard Work & Landscaping (Spring through Fall)
  • Indoor Painting Projects
