Our Senior Services program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Heart of Illinois United Way. 

MEN & WOMEN 55 & BETTER

 

The programs for men & women 55 & better give them the opportunity to engage in various activities that foster independence, social interaction and good health.  A menu of activities are offered that range from recreation to sewing to bus trips to playing cards & more.  During organized events, a nutritious meal and entertainment is provided to each participant.  

Tuesday Club

Seniors celebrate the holidays!

Various health screenings, informational programs and speakers are scheduled after 11am.  A hot lunch is served at noon, followed by a brief meeting, cards and Bingo!  Transportation is available for a donation of $1.00 each way.

Tuesday Club members have outings planned to the Par-A-Dice & the Spirit of Peoria!

"Paper Rollers"

This group meets every Thursday to and rolls newspapers for the Humane Society.  They arrive around 8:30 a.m. and roll papers until after lunch.

AARP

The American Association of Retired Persons meets the first Monday of each month at 10:30am.  A variety of informational programs and entertainment is offered.  A hot lunch is served at noon.

Volunteer Corps

This group of women provide volunteer service for all Neighborhood House functions.  Lunch and mileage reimbursement may be provided through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP).

Travel Club

On the second Friday of every month, this group meets to plan fun-packed one-day and three-day trips.  The Club meets for lunch, a brief meeting and Bingo! 

Wednesday Club

It's Wednesday morning, it's conversation, it's cards and it's socializing.  A hot meal is served at noon, followed by a brief meeting, cards and Bingo!  Transportation is available for a donation of $1.00 each way.

Quilters

The ladies meet every Monday and Thursday.  They enjoy making quilts and sharing stories about their families and loved ones.  Quilters arrive in the morning, share lunch at 11:30am, and quilt until early afternoon.

Other activities include card parties... anniversary and holiday dinners... bake sales... the "Easter Hat Parade"... Valentine's Day party... and St. Patrick's Day celebration!

Game Room 

Persons over 55 are invited to participate in recreational activities at the House.  Activities include:  pool, air hockey, ping pong, etc.

OVER 55 & FIT

Persons over 55 are invited to utilize the exercise equipment providing they have a release from their doctor.  Exercise equipment includes:  elliptical trainer, weight machine, stair stepper, etc.
